January 2005 – December 2006 Occupation or position held Project Manager for the Upgrade of the Telespazio MATERA Multi-mission Ground Station Main activities and responsibilities Responsible for the upgrade of the Telespazio multi-mission ground station for the acquisition and processing of ENVISAT-ASAR and MODIS (TERRA-AQUA) data (about 500 KEuro of total budget) in near real-time. Activities I undertook were: • Analysis of higher level system requirements and of SAR product specifications; • High-Performance Computing analysis of SAR processing algorithms and of processing algorithm prototypes; • Definition of processing facilities software requirements and of a reference architectural design; • Contribution to the overall system engineering. In this role, I gained experience related to the UML (Unified Modeling Language) software development methodologies for system analysis and architectural design related to ground facilities. I also face with parallel programming issues related to the computational complexity of SAR processing algorithms.
