Profile

Dynamic, growing, and motivated graduate in Business Administration with five-year of experience in Aerospace Engineering mostly matured in a multi-cultural foreign country. My ambition is to apply my knowledge and experience to a growing international-oriented organization in a position as previously reported.

Thanks to: three years of work experience at NASA, the concepts of project management skills that I learned during the MBA program gained in the U.S. (through classes like: operations management, business strategies, finance, accounting and human capital); the greatest ambition is to apply the concepts of the project management to an aerospace program that operates in an international environment.

Configuration Manager, official representative for the Italian Space Agency at NASA and space operations engineer in support to the International Space Station Program.

Main activities and responsibilities

• Managed the hardware and document’ configuration of a fleet of 3 space modules. Provided engineering evaluation to any request to modify the flight hardware in order to accommodate any implementations or improvements to the modules. Part of multi-lateral boards for the review of new configuration plans of new space modules and reviews of configuration management issues. Updated the library’s design and the affected documentation, reviewed the modification proposals and provided engineering and risk assessments in compliance with the program base-line and bi-lateral agreements between the two countries.
• Represented the Italian Space Agency at NASA, exploring, analyzing and supporting opportunities and needs among Space Agencies and private Companies from different countries. Attended systematic technical and tactical multi-lateral meetings during which I have applied the management and risk mitigation skills I learned during the MBA program. Attended to interchanged meetings providing risk mitigation actions and assisting to financial and economic negotiations and agreements among international parties.
• Provided engineering supports to space modules operations which include ground operations as well as space operations from different NASA’ centers. Attended to regular staff meetings within the Italian teams, mission processing meetings with NASA’ teams and its counterparts and management meetings where technical, programmatic and human resources concepts where regularly applied for multi-cultural groups. Managed real time risk and problem mitigation actions between different international technical teams during day-to-day activities. Provided real-time flight operations support during each of the 3 MPLM flights from Houston for the whole duration of the Space Shuttle missions.

Given my all along high interest in both the aerospace and the BA fields, it is been my desire to combine two different degrees to better be able to contribute to a space organization to analyze issues and support planning decisions for the medium and long-run. This combination, gained in a foreign country, provides me the competences required to support a large project in a top-level international organization in order to have the big picture of an important space project and to be more useful to an organization that is constantly engaged in these kind of mixed administrative-space businesses in the positions above mentioned.

The MBA also gave me the opportunity to acquire methods and skills for the industrial control of the activities in terms of costs, financial planning, risk evaluation and mitigation, competitors’ behavior, marketing strategies and use of informatics tools for scheduling of activities and resources.
