    Summary of Expertise

    Cristina will obtain the degree on Aerospace Engineering (Masters) in September in completion of her final thesis project. Parallel to the completion of her studies, she has taken part in a number of projects which have helped her in the understanding and application of several theoretical concepts learned at the University. Aside from her academic experience, Cristina also had the opportunity to develop her management skills in multicultural environments while collaborating with a number of international associations (i.e. Euroavia, Board of European Students of Technology).

    Her key roles and responsibilities on some of those academic projects are described below, as well as her more relevant achievements.

    As part of Cristina’s academic experience, she was involved in a number of projects as outlined below.

    02/2010 – Present        Final thesis project

    Drag Enhancement Options Study for Mars Atmospheric Entry and Mission Design.

    02/2010 – 06/2010        Project coordinator of a Space Mission Concept Development, UPC

    The project is a concept design with important system-level budgets for a Jupiter Trojan moon L4/L5 exploration probe in collaboration with a team from University of California at Davis and the support from an International Aerospace Agency. Main duties:

     - Identified, planified, delegated and scheduled the work throughout the project;

     - Prepared online meetings with UCD and external help from the US;

    - Studied the thermal control basics;

     - Designed the vehicle layout based on similar missions using Solid Edge software.

    02/2009 – 06/2009        Coordinator in the preliminary design of a rigid wing hang glider

     - Main coordinator of the project -Identified, planified, delegated and scheduled the work-;

     - Analysed the structure of the wing with the finite elements method (FEM) using ANSYS software;

     - Designed the structure of the wing using Solid Edge software.

    09/2008 – 06/2009        Structure analyst in the design and implementation of a 4-rotor UAV

     - Analysed the structure of the vehicle using the finite elements method (FEM) with ANSYS software;
