Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope recently completed the largest and most sensitive survey of dust surrounding young star systems. The survey zoomed-in on stars that are between 10 million to 1 billion years old and the source of the dust is thought to be the left-over debris from planet, asteroid and comet collisions after systems of planets have formed.

The planned Falcon 9 rocket launch scheduled from Vandenberg Air Force Base this summer is in limbo after another NASA mission ended in failure following liftoff from Florida. Just a little over two minutes after launching on Sunday, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and unmanned Dragon cargo vehicle burst into flames, spewing fiery debris into the sky over Florida and incinerating 5,200 pounds of supplies, research, and hardware.
