A helium leak in one of space shuttle Discovery's rocket pods may delay a planned April 5 launch, officials said Saturday. If the shuttle can't be repaired on its oceanside pad, the launch team may have to roll Discovery to its processing hanger for repairs. Papier sur la stratification atmosphérique : « A behavior of sea surface brightness temperature at a change of a condition of atmospheric stratification » International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS 1999, Hamburg, Germany June 28-July 7 1999, Proceedings on Cdrom, Paper BBC 2906, 3 p. The paper presents the results of theoretical researches ; many researches have shown that the absolute value of the sea surface brightness temperature (SSBT) depends on some parameter such as near surface wind speed and direction, sea state or the degree of nonfully development of sea surface waves, water temperature and salinity. In this paper it is shown that the difference of near surface air and water temperatures are influencing the sea surface spectrum, consequently the SSBT.

UCLRTM (Université Catholique Louvain Radiative Transfer Model) is a biophysical characterisation of

Tropical ecosystems by spaceborne synthetic aperture radar remote sensing. My contribution to model

UCLRTM was to extend grass leaf structure by using Mathieu’s functions to describe elongated leaves of

elliptical shape.

This paper reports on a project dealing with waste management. The methodology used illustrates how waste transportation costs using a linear program are minimized in a major urban area. Although real sized optimization models are too difficult to solve with existing means, useful collection strategies are identified to give some grounds to decision makers in urban administration.

This paper presents an enhancement to the way CICS (an IBM system) chooses a terminal model in its preselected models table. Indeed this table allows little freedom at sign-on time. The feature we use allows us to choose any terminal type including LOGMODEs with specific 3270 features. The logic used in solving this problem consists of parsing the relevant VTAM area in the format : LOGON applid(cicsname) DATA(field).

My memoir dealt with the oscillation of neutrino mass eigenstates according to the Micheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein mechanism explaining the solar neutrino puzzle. This is a special scenario in the Majorana scheme of mass spectra for leptons, where the wave function has mass properties producing a breakdown of flavor eigenstates into mass eigenstates detectable or not on earth. I contributed with a Lagrangian coping for the exponential distribution of electrons in the sun. Recent experiments show that mixing of the electron neutrino parameters (the mixing angle and the mass) with the muon or tau neutrino may offer a likely explanation to the lack of neutrinos observed in terrestrial detectors.
