Astronomer specialised in observing techniques (astronomer at APEX telescope for four years), submillimeter instrumentation (bolometer cameras), as well as astrophysical data reduction and interpretation (star formation).
EXPERIENCE
- Astronomer at ESO - APEX, Chile, 2004 - 2008
- In charge of observations at the APEX radio-telescope located in the Atacama desert at 5100 meters above sea level (funded by ESO, MPI and Onsala).
- Specialist of the bolometric instrumentation at the telescope (3 cameras). In particular, responsible for the tests of the submillimeter camera Artemis (CEA - ESO).
- Member of the science operation group, in charge of the calibrations, pointing, holography and software maintenance and improvement.
- Observational astronomer with strong interest in star formation.
- PhD Student at CEA/SAp, France, 2000 - 2004
- Study and tests of a new generation bolometer camera for ground-based millimeter astronomy (solid state physics, optics, cryogenics, electronics, simulations of astrophysical observations, tests on telescopes, data processing and interpretation).
- Development of a cryogenic Fourrier Transform spectrometer working in the submillimeter and millimeter domain.
- Research Engineer at CEA/SAp, France, 7 months in 1999 (internship)
- Characterisation of a new type of resistive bolometer arrays for the detector selection of the Herschel / Spire instrument.

- 1998 - BSc Applied Physics, Nottingham Trent University, England (2nd Class, 1st Div. Honours).
- 1996 - University Degree in Technology (DUT), specialty Physics, IUT of Clermont-Ferrand, France.
- 1994 - High School Diploma, specialty Physics and Mathematics, lycée Banville Moulins, France.
COMPUTING SKILLS : Unix, Mac OS X, Python, Matlab, C, Gildas, BoA, Zemax, LabView, LaTeX.
LANGUAGES : French : mother tongue. English, Spanish : fluent.
