QUALIFICATIONS
MSc in Avionics Systems Sept 2007 – Oct 2008
University of Sheffield - Sheffield, U.K
Bachelor of Computer Engineering Aug 1999 – May 2004
Gujarat University - Ahmedabad, India.
ACHIEVEMENTS
MSc Project: Control of Micro Aerial Vehicle [MAV] in wind tunnel. This project renders a robust framework to control the longitudinal characteristics of MAV in a wind tunnel. The environment was implemented using Matlab tools and dSPACE system.
Wing Rock model simulated in hardware using the Quanser MQ3 which showed increase, decrease and sustained oscillations in the roll angle of an aircraft with change in pitch angle.
International Paper Presentation: February 2004: Ashish Singhal, “Aircraft Guiding System with 3D display of Terrain”, International conference on Systemics, Cybernetics & Informatics (ICSCI-2004), Pentagram Research Centre, India.
EARLY CAREER
ATM Private Ltd, Coimbatore, India Dec 2005 – Aug 2007
Engineer and Management Trainee
Developed a novel solution for implementing automation in existing in-use sizing machines.
To ensure that the products met customers’ requirements and also make the sizing mechanical machines more automation friendly.
Involved with the purchase department and contributed towards the planning for business development.
Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, IIT- Bombay, India Jul 2004 – Dec 2005
Research Assistant
Worked on various projects and mainly on a module for autonomous MAV, which dealt with extraction of attitude parameter of MAV using video telemetry.
Other projects included simulation of Aircraft electric braking system, modelling fuel transfer system.
Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, IIT- Bombay, India Jul 2004 –Dec 2005
Teaching Assistant
To assist 3rd year aerospace engineering students with control & instrumentation experiments based on Quanser system and software like MATLAB/SIMULINK.
POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY
Post Graduate Taught Student representative for the Faculty of Engineering
2007 - 2008, University of Sheffield
I addressed any issues faced by my fellow students and ensured a workable solution. Actively took part in student – faculty meetings and presented suggestions on other departmental issues.
IEEE Student Branch Chairman for 2003 – 2004. IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), Gujarat University, India
As the Chairman of a student body of the whole state gave me a sense of responsibility. It helped me in gaining 1st hand experience in team management, event handling, sponsorship raising, etc. During the tenure we conducted various technical events including an All India National student paper contest.
