March 2006 – Present Telecommunication Support Services Inc

Team Lead  Installed and performed line up testing of SCPC 3.8 meter satellite antennas in support of air traffic air to ground network for the FAA. Installed 8 3.8 meter dishes  throughout the western United States as part of a Harris contract for the FAA air traffic control network.

 

 

March 2003 –March 2006 TAMSCO

Satellite Systems Analyst  Installed, operated and maintained a VSAT TDMA satellite network in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. Trained soldiers on the installation and operation of Idirect TDMA VSAT terminals. Manned helpdesk in Kuwait in support of VSAT network, provided real time customer support and restoration to system outages. Operated and maintained hub in Wiesbaden Germany for VSAT network.

Telecommunication Support Services, Inc.

Field Engineer  Installed, configured and verified Motorola digital headend equipment to include

IRT1000/2000 Integrated Receiver Transmiter, OM1000 Out of Band modulator, C6U/C8U upconverters, RPD1000/2000 Return Path Demodulators, in both National Control and Local Control headends. Installed and verified DAC6000 digital addressable controller hardware and software. Interfaced with HITS, program content provider, to install, configure, and verify national control headends.

Field Service Engineer Installed, maintained and operated satellite terminals, both VSATS and land earth stations on independent assignments in Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, and Guinea. Installation include everything from civils  to station acceptance.

Field Service Engineer Maintained and operated satellite terminal in Saudi Arabia.  Participated in several other projects while awaiting host nation approval for terminal in Saudi Arabia.  Provided field engineering and support for mobile communications network install in support of the multinational forces in Bosnia.

 

August 1995-October 1996

Cruisephone Inc.   Field Service Engineer  Installed, maintained and operated both shipboard and earth station equipment associated with a mobile c-band satellite terminal providing voice and data communications for the cruise ship industry.  Interfaced directly with the shipboard customer to provide real time support for system anomalies.  Provided daily support for teleport point of presence.  Responsibilities include system monitoring and configuration, engineering and installation of new services and interface to the public switched telephone network.  Maintained circuit documentation, circuit layout and system component configurations.

 

 

October 1987-June 1994

Lockheed Space Operations Company Communications Technician   Installed, operated and maintained data communications equipment associated with a wide area network using bridges, routers and

gateways connecting local area networks to a T-3 backbone.  Operated and maintained wideband video and data transmission equipment used in ground support of shuttle operations.  Performed circuit switching and configuration through the use of test support documents.  Aligned and tested terrestrial data circuits to prescribed standards.  Manned launch console and performed realtime circuit restoral to launch critical circuits.

 

June 1980-April 1984

United States Coast Guard Sonar Technician  Operated and maintained sonar equipment to component lavel.  Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining shipboard dead reckoning analyzer, underwater telephone and fathometer.  Ordered and cataloged spare parts inventory.
