Professional Background

• Member of the Mini-Baja Team – UnB – Development and assemble of an off-road car with competitive objectives against other universities from Brazil.

• Practical Training at Mitsubishi Electronics for the period of 320 work hours – 1^st semester of 2004.

• Development of a computer three dimensional model of a hydroelectric generator, in partnership with Eletronorte, government energy agency of the Northern states of Brazil. 1^st semester of 2005.

• Graduation Project: Electromagnetically Levitated Ultra-centrifuge using PIC microcontrollers.

• Practical Training at ZTEC technology.  Working as Project Engineer with the development of a cryptographic GSM mobile telephone using cryptographic algorithms with a G-20 Motorola GSM Module, a DSP and AMBE-2000 microchips.  Extensive use of SolidWorks software and Stereo Lithography 1^st semester of 2006.

Academic Background:

• Lower and High School: American School of Brasília.  Graduated with honors, awarded with a diploma for academic achievement and excellence issued by Bill Clinton (at the time president of the USA). 

• Elected class representative and High School treasure by the school students and the student board.

• High school diploma recognized by the US government at 2000 and certificate of Brazilian High School Diploma recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education at 1999.

• Rewarded 11 (eleven) times with the James Madison Honor Society diploma for academic excellence.

• Translation technician in English Diploma – recognized by law N02/07 from 02/01/70 SEC – DF.

• Scholarship at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) at Stockholm, Sweden.  This scholarship was offered by UnB (University of Brasília) for the top two students at the University, of any major, who applied for the exchange program.  2^nd semester of 2004.

• Scholarship at Porto University at the Engineering Faculty at Porto, Portugal.  This scholarship was offered by UnB (University of Brasília) to the top 16 (sixteen) engineering students at the University who applied for the exchange program.  2^nd second semester of 2005.  Because of the graduation project time schedule it was decided not to go.

• Graduation: UnB (University of Brasília) – Mechatronic engineering with 5 (five) years program.  Graduated in the 1^st semester of 2006 as one of the top 10 students of the class.

• Double Masters Degree in Space Engineer by SpaceMaster Consortium.  Also granted with the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. Currently on the fourth semester of the program, residing in Prague, Czech Rep. with lectures at CVUT (Czech Technical University).   For more information: www.spacemaster.se

Current Project (Pos-graduate project)

• Complete design and assembly of an Inertial Navigation System(INS) with 6 degrees of freedom (3 gyros, 3 accelerometers and a temperature sensor for error calibration) aided by GPS and a 3 axis magnetometer.  The microcontroller used is an ARM7 Philips with CAN communication capabilities.  The Extended Kalman Filter will be used for the data fusion.  The project also includes the design of the PCBs using Eagle Software.  The project is sponsored by the Czech Rep. Army.
