IT Skills

o   3D modeling: AUTODESK-INVENTOR, PRO-E, CATIA, IDEAS,

o   Drawing: AUTOCAD; Dynamic simulation: ADAMS;

o   Stress analysis: ANSYS;  Reports/Presentations: MS Office,

o   Programming/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW

Jan 2004 – Sep 2007,             System Engineer (Aerospace Mechanism Design/development), VSSC, ISRO, India

Ø  Air Intake Mechanism for Hypersonic RAMJET Engine:

   (I was the team leader of group size of 4)

·         Carried out the conceptual designs, Final design, 3D modeling, animation using AUTODESK INVENTOR and drawing using AUTOCAD. Carried out the load path analysis and detailed stress assessment using ANSYS. Carried out the components fabrication drawing and its review for fabrication assessment

·         Configured the specifications for the actuators and other active elements in the system (sizing of the system carried out based on load, stress, power and dynamic envelope) & Coordinated/participated interface meetings with various internal and external agencies.

Ø  Satellite tilting mechanism design and Harmonic drive test bench: (Principal designer; concept proposed for patent rights)

·         Configured the concept of satellite tilting mechanism, designed the actuation, release, locking and holding subsystems and did stress analysis using ANSYS

·         Designed the test bench for characterization of harmonic drive - another subsystem associated with system testing (typically a highly sophisticated MECHATRONIC SYSTEM): system with high end DAQ and real time display with user friendly software interface)

Ø  Launcher Hold and Release System:

·         Involved in the hydraulic circuit design of launcher hold and release system and assisted the hydraulic power pack and Hydraulic flushing trolley design, development and testing. Gained the knowledge of design and selection of o-rings and various sealings.

·         3D modeling and Stress analysis of vehicle support blocks for launch vehicle, drawing generated, fabricated the hardware and load tested with strain gauged DAQ system and results were compared with predicted.

Jan 2000 – Dec 2003,                               Quality Assurance Engineer

Product Assurance Division, ISRO, India

·         Acquired the key skills in the areas of checking/modifying the design and drawing creation, modification and review of AUTOCAD drawing, tolerance analysis, and fabrication assessment study.

·         Authored Configuration Control Management Plan of spacecraft separation systems (27 systems covered) and QA plan and quality control documents for various aerospace mechanisms.

·         Involved in testing, evaluation and certification of Raw materials procured, springs and steel balls as per ISO standard. Developed various testing schemes and its quality control protocols

June 1998 – Dec 1999,                            Lecturer

Mechanical Engineering Dept, Dr NN College of Engineering, India

§  By Teaching and motivating young engineering students, I gained the strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, good communication and presentation skills that really helped to enter into space industry.
