The activities carried out during my working experience has been focused on the system engineering providing support to the preparation and implementation of future satellite programs, and to the operations and maintenance of current programs. The activities include primarily engineering tasks related to the specification and design of new systems and to the subsequent integration, verification and validation of the combined space and ground segment.

The main duties and responsibilities has been as follows:

  • contribution to the definition and specification of future systems (including space and ground segments);
  • review and maintenance of the system baseline documentation.
  • participation in the engineering activities, at overall system level, for the development programs, including:
    • performing architectural trade – offs;
    • establishing and maintaining system technical budgets;
    • reviewing space-to-ground interfaces;
    • generating System Test and Verification and Validation plans, procedures, etc.;
  • support to the procurement and review of the various space and ground segment elements that constitute the overall system.

ü      Definition of the test cases and the test procedures for the ALPHASAT TDP#5 experimentation, co – operation with the scientific committee for the definition of the TC&TM lists required for the experiment execution

ü      Payload analysis for the identification of the payload configuration status for the experiment execution

ü      Definition of experiment interfaces to payload facilities and identification of preliminary operating procedures

ü      Payload telemetries and telecommands analysis in order to analyze the required TM/TCs for each experiment and the possible recovery actions in case of payload failure
