CV

BRIEF SUMMARY

During my internship in Thales Alenia Space I have joined an international team and worked on the modelization and simulation of aerospace dynamics, AOCS/GNC systems and propulsion systems.
Thanks to the second level Master in Space Transportation Systems I have attended after my Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, I have gained a wide knowledge of launch systems, with particular emphasis on the European sector (Ariane 5, Vega and Soyuz).
Throughout my university studies, graduation thesis and work experiences I developed a great confidence with the use of multiobjective optimization techniques for guidance and system design trade-offs. This, together with my passion for evolutionary theories, led me to develop an evolutionary based approach to systems design, on the grounds of which I have proposed, and started to realize, a framework for the optimal design of aerospace systems and missions.
Presently I am working in the field of after-sale Integrated Logistic Support Services in the market of Air Traffic Control Radar Systems, and I am using this opportunity to extend my approach beyond the merely technical aspect of systems design.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Dates
February 2008 → now
Occupation
Consultant in the Aerospace and Defence division
Main activities and responsibilities
The following activities have been performed for different customers in the Aerospace and Defence sector:
·       Definition of methodologies for cross-platform porting of Radar post-processing algorithms developed in MATLAB/Simulink
·       Drafting of technical proposals ad cost budgets for Air Traffic Control Radars post-warranty
Employer
Altran Italy, Rome (Italy)

Dates
August 2007 – January 2008
Occupation or position held
GNC/AOCS Engineer (internship)
Main activities and responsibilities
Development of appropriate software tools for the definition and simulation of GNC systems for re-entry and descent demonstrators (ESA EXPERT programme). Among such tools there were different aerospace flight mechanics simulators, realized in MATLAB/Simulink, and the use of Multiobjective Optimization Techniques for Guidance optimization and system design trade-offs.
