Job Title:                      MSG Spacecraft Systems Operations Controller.

Job Responsibilities:              

Working in the MSG Operations team, providing 24 hour cover. Main duties included:

• Monitoring status data from the spacecraft and ground stations.
• End-to-end monitoring across a multi-plat-formed environment to track dataflow from the satellite through to the end users reception stations.
• Providing first line technical support to troubleshoot hardware problems, preventing data loss to the end users.
• Routine checks of equipment in house and advising customers of alternative methods for receiving the data.
• Take the necessary corrective action in the event of spacecraft or ground station anomalies according to pre-defined operational procedures.
• Liasing with ground station personnel for familiarisation visits and exercise purposes such as back up spacecraft control centre operations in the event of main control room failure.

• Take responsibility for Trainee Operators, and provide training where required.

Interests & Hobbies     

Sports including football, cricket, snooker, gym, running and cycling.  I played football for a team in Darmstadt called SG Eiche. I enjoy listening to a vast range of music.
