SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Over 20 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of various military and civilian satellite communication terminals. Equipment worked on includes, but is not limited to, Satellite Antennas, RF Transmitters, Frequency Converters, Digital Data Modems, Multiplexers to include the TimePlex Link/2+, TimePlex Synchrony ST-1000, MIDAS (Multiplexer Integration and DCSS Automation System), and Promina 800, Mitel SX-200/EL PBX. Knowledgeable in the use of various items of test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers, signal generators, power meters, and digital voltmeters. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
WORK HISTORY
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, KWAJALEIN MARSHALL ISLANDS 2007-Present
- As Assistant Site Manager am responsible for submitting all purchase and parts orders, order tracking, budget management, keeping all TMDE calibrated with no over dues, ensuring that personnel are completing all required maintenance and preventive checks on time and entering maintenance information into the company database
- Training and assisting shift workers as needed for demand maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive checks for an AN/FSC-78C and an Intelsat F3 satellite terminal
- Created databases for managing the spare parts inventory for both terminals and the associated TMDE, created spreadsheet for tracking purchase orders from creation to when they are received
- Proficient with the use of KEAMS (Kwajalein Enterprise Asset Management System) to submit and review supply and parts requisitions, track plant property items, work orders, scheduled preventative maintenance checks.
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, OKINAWA, JAPAN 2004-2006
- As Shift Supervisor oversaw a five person shift in the operation and maintenance of a dual C-band and dual Ku-band satellite teleport in support of US military assets
- Assisted the US Army in the operations and maintenance of a dual AN/GSC-39C satellite facility during numerous US military training and humanitarian missions.
- Utilized TMCS (Teleport Management and Control Segment) software, MIDAS, and Promina for monitor and control of satellite teleport equipment and satellite facility DCSS (Digital Communications Satellite Subsystem) equipment
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA 2003 – 2003
- Installed and deinstalled 2.4M VSAT satellite terminal for support of Prince Sultan Air Base
- Operated and maintained satellite terminal for duration of service with no outages
- Developed PMCS checklists for the satellite terminal
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, KEY WEST, FLORIDA 2000 – 2002
- Operated and maintained a multi-million dollar Intelsat 01B satellite terminal as the network control site for the CSCS (Counterdrug Surveillance and Control System) program
- Responsible for maintaining links between Joint Command facilities at NAF Key West and USAF remote site assets in South America
- Used NMACS (Network Management and Control System), RTECS (Remote Test Equipment Control System), SNMS (Synchrony Network Management System) and CPS (Craft Person Station) for 24 hour monitoring and troubleshooting of network activity, in addition to implementing circuit installation and changes as required
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, KWAJALEIN, MARSHALL ISLANDS 1997 – 2000
- As Shift Supervisor operated and maintained an AN/FSC-78 and 78B satellite communications terminal and an Intelsat F3 satellite communications terminal
- Assisted in an extensive upgrade and testing of the AN/FSC-78 satellite terminal to include the deinstallation of existing RF equipment in preparation for the upgrade to the 78B terminal
- Assisted in the installation and testing of the Intelsat F3 terminal
- Experienced in network installation, such as pulling cable, termination, and installation of network equipment
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, US ARMY, WIESBADEN, GERMANY 1994 – 1997
- As Shift Supervisor supervised and trained new soldiers in the operation and maintenance of an AN/MSC-73 satellite communications terminal
- Managed spare parts to maintain continuous and reliable communications as the Prescribed Load List NCO
SATELLITE TECHNICIAN, US ARMY, FORT MEADE, MARYLAND 1991 – 1994
- Assisted in the supervision of daily operations and maintenance of a dual AN/FSC-78 satellite communications facility and two AN/USC-28 SSMA communications systems
- Trained and rated 9 soldiers in Satellite Communications job proficiency
- Managed shift scheduling to ensure military and mission requirements were satisfied

- Monitored and repaired an AN/GSC-39 satellite communications terminal
- Worked as a member of a 7 person strategic terminal communications team
