The European Space Agency is in the process of introducing an ISO 9000 management system and this is a definition stage.

To come in at the definition stage of an ISO 9000 implementation process and perform scope management, process analysis and definition, and perform initial quality management activities for ESA

Responsibilities / Duties:

You will perform activities in support of the Definition phase of an ISO 9001 certification project. They shall know in depth the requirements and constraints involved in the standard and in this type of project, and in particular the requirements associated with the process approach required in the standard. They shall have demonstrable experience in similar ISO 9000 certification projects.

You will participate in the activity of identifying the current set of processes and procedures and in the elaboration of the potential gaps of those Agency’s processes with respect to the standard.

Also, to support as required discussions with the staff to collect inputs and will elaborate them into the various process definitions.

You will support the evaluation of current processes in view of ISO 9001 certification and conduct internal audits of the processes if necessary. The contractor personnel will participate in the presentation and explanation of the ISO 9001 Management System requirements to staff whenever required.

You will be involved in the following activities:

·         Scope management

·         Target documentation definition

·         Definition of the documentation requirements for Interfaced processes

·         QMS basic toolset identification

·         Preliminary Performance metrics identification

Process analysis and definition:

·         Products and services identification

·         Support the preparation of the Process architecture in terms of Process Map and process data sheets, Process role profiles, Key Performance Indicators

·         Support the process definition and documentation including interviews of key positions

·         Agency ISO 9001 overall gap analysis

·         Policy compatibility requirements

·         Analysis of existing processes, including the internal customer supplier processes

·         Review of processes with respect to possible Performance Indicators

·         Perform initial Quality Management activities

·         Implementations of pilot Process Management

·         Implementation of selected pilot enabling and support processes

·         Evaluate, develop and initiate risk management processes

·         Initiate pilot processes for management of non-conformances, anomalies and problems

·         Prepare ISO management system configuration management procedures

·         Support the development of a communication plan

·         Support the development of  the training concept and associated plan

·         Provide training on ISO 9001 and Quality Assurance and  related methods and techniques

·         Support workshops

Essential Skills:

·         Applied knowledge of business process engineering, including analysis and modelling techniques

·         Mature knowledge of  ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems Requirements, and ISO 9004:2000 and other quality management guidelines concerning such aspects as training, documentation, risk management, performance improvement

·         Experience in management systems concepts, methods and their implementation in multi-disciplinary, international organizations, both in public and private sector

Desirable Skills:

·         Knowledge of the Agency’s organization and activities

·         Familiarity with the ECSS system, in particular in the Management domain

Qualities:

Ability to work in an International team on an International project
