    System Engineer

    On-Board Software Validation

     

    Activities

    Galileo is a global satellite navigation system which intended to provide more precise measurements than available through existing systems like GPS (Galileo will be accurate down to the metre range), better positioning services at high latitudes and an independent positioning system upon which European nations can rely. In your role as Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the validation of onboard-software for the next Galileo Satellites. This involves the following activities:

    ·         Quick induction in processes, development and testing environment of the Galileo IOV on-board software

    ·         Modification and configuration of development environments, test tools and application software

    ·         Achievement and Recording of test cases, test procedures for the integration and validation of new versions of the Gallileo Satellite Software

    ·         Analysis of the test results concerning non - conformances

    ·         Debugging of non – conformances within the tested software

    ·         Independent implementation of software modification to debugging

    ·         Ensuring configuration control (software, documentation)

    ·         Development of test documentations according to space standards

    Skills

    You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

    ·         University degree in computer science or aerospace engineering

    ·         As many as 3 years practice in Embedded Software development and test activities (by preference in the space business)

    ·         Very good skills in current software development environments, operating systems, methods and tools for Embedded Software-design- and verification

    ·         Good skills in the following programming languages / tools: C / Java; RTEMS / Cygwin / Linux; Word / Framemaker; Clearquest / Clearcase

    ·         Skills in satellite functions (AOCS, DHS, Payload, Power, FDIR, Thermal Control)

    ·         Analytical skills and well-structured approach

    ·         Good language skills in German, English, knowledge of French as an asset
