    General Spacecraft and Launcher Structural Engineering

    About AOES

    AOES B.V. is based in Leiden and has brought together a dedicated team of experienced people, equipped with the latest technology and know-how to work on all aspects of IT and Engineering services. We provide professional Engineering Services, Information Technology and Visual and Technical Communication to the Aerospace Industry. Our services can be provided at the customer’s premises or in-house using our own comprehensive project support facilities operated by our experienced IT engineering group.

    Tasks & Responsibilities

    • General Spacecraft and Launcher Structural Engineering;
    • Assist the customer in the implementation of Structural Engineering for all customer projects and programs throughout all the development phases, ranging from conceptual design studies to Flight Acceptance Reviews. This task includes providing support to projects wrt definition of specifications, support to design reviews, support to structural test programs, etc.
    • Support the establishment of Statements of Work (SOW) for spacecraft and launcher structures dedicated to customer projects (spacecraft/payload/equipment) or technology development applications.
    • Assist the customer in solving specific structural design or verification issues encountered during execution of  customer projects;
    • Assist in the definition of enabling structures technology activities for future missions relevant to the future mission planning.
    • Support and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of relevant Structures Engineering Standards and Handbooks.
    • Interface with prime contractors or agencies (e.g. ESA, CNES, DLR, NASA), participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested by work, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions.

    Profile

    • Engineering degree (Masters)
    • Several years of experience in spacecraft and launcher structural engineering, covering all project phases.
    • Adequate knowledge in the employment of the relevant software, such as Nastran, Patran, Samcef etc.
    • Experience with composites and failure analysis is considered a plus
    • Fluent in English
