    Web Administrator based at the European Space Agency,

    Noordwijk, the Netherlands

    Overview:

    Serco, a supplier of staff and resources to International Organisations and Governments have provided engineering and business administration staff  to the European Space Agency for over 30 years

     

    Currently we are seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic Web Administrator to work in an exciting innovative international environment.

     

    As an expert in your field, you will be providing support to the SciTech editorial team and will be primarily responsible for preparing and maintaining a web site focussing on ESA supported activities for the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) but will also be required to support other SciTech activities. You will have some understanding of both Astronomy and Space Science environments

     

    You will be required to carry out the following tasks:

     

    ·         Prepare a web site dedicated to informing interested parties about the activities that ESA will perform in support of IYA2009;

     

    ·         Maintain and develop the web pages and associated resources provided under this site;

     

    ·         Operate the related help desk (reply to queries which are received via the site);

     

    ·         Initiate and coordinate text and illustrative material (images, movies) for the web site;

     

    ·         Maintain a database of contacts and events related to ESA IYA activities.

     

    You will be fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages could be an asset.

     

    You will be a team player, be able to work independently and posses’ excellent communication skills are necessary. 

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    Applicants require be of degree level in Science with previous experience in Scientific Web administration activities

     

    Specific knowledge is required in the following fields:

    ·         Web-based communication tools especially web site management, good web practice;

    ·         HTML coding;

    ·         Experience with user-driven web tools such as wikis and  blogs would be an asset

     

     

    Applicants must hold the correct documentation and permits to work in the Netherlands.
