Grafton Group is a consulting company with over 20 years experience providing specialist engineering services and support to the international Space Industry. We are currently searching for new candidates due to strong demand from our various Customers in Europe and N. America.
Job Description:

Responsible for the overall product assurance of a space project including all phases from preliminary design through launch, commissioning and delivery to the customer

Monitoring, reporting and control of all project subcontractors including anomaly tracking and reporting

Support to all project reviews and close coordination with the project manager on the supply to the customer of the project deliverables in accordance with the project schedule

Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing situations with sometimes conflicting requirements

Responsibility for the project risk register

Lead a small team of staff in the quality domain supporting project quality

Provide support to the project team in order to comply with the project PA and quality requirements
-
Ensure all parts, materials and processes conform to the exacting space requirements standards

Attend inspections of components, key equipment and space hardware at all project supplier levels

Provide the necessary inspection reports and other PA documentation during all phases of the space project

Provide an audit capability as required to ensure the project quality meets the exacting standards and project requirements

Interface and communicate at all levels with the customer and project teams

Monitoring and tracking of anomalies together with their resolution
Profile:
-
University degree (M.Sc/B.Sc/B.A) in Engineering, Materials Science or comparable technical expertise in the Space Industry

5 years minimum experience in Product Assurance, ideally gained within the space industry

Good working knowledge of ECSS and NASA standards

Experience of complete product lifecycle exposure in close liaison with the customer from the bid phase to product delivery

Experience of customer facing Product Assurance / Quality Assurance role, including review and buy-off meetings

Good analytical skills and ability to take decisions

Knowledge of Configuration Management relevant to the space industry

Excellent negotiation skills and professional approach

Good communication skills in English required, with additional foreign language skills preferred

Good presentation skills and ability to provide succinct reporting on complex technical problems together with suggestions for problem resolution
-
Team leadership and ability to travel overseas
