    Grafton Group is a consulting company with over 20 years experience providing specialist engineering services and support to the international Space Industry. We are currently searching for new candidates due to strong demand from our various Customers in Europe and N. America.


    Job Description:

    • Spacecraft mechanical systems design, performance, budget management and interface control
    • Mechanical systems trade-offs and analyses
    • Requirements engineering, analysis and verification management
    • Subcontractor/Work Package management and reporting, including RIDs management at design reviews
    • Review of subcontractor documentation (design reports, analyses, trade-offs, technical budgets).
    • Responsible for spacecraft system test phases including review of test data
    • Participation in spacecraft Material Review Boards (MRBs) for system and subsystem tests
    • Responsible for monitoring satellite system and subsystem test performance during spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) and environmental testing
    • Analysis of test telemetry and review of spacecraft mechanical systems performance against design requirements
    • Acceptance of test results and provide recommendations for further action as necessary
    • Monitoring and tracking of test anomalies together with their resolution, reporting and tracking
    • Support to all project reviews and close coordination with the project manager on the supply to the Customer of the project deliverables in accordance with the project schedule
    • Support and input to the preparation of deliverable documentation for the key project milestones
    • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing situations with sometimes conflicting requirements
    • Attend inspections of spacecraft hardware with project suppliers
    • Communicate at all levels with the Customer and project teams


    Profile:

    • University degree (M.Sc/B.Sc/B.A) in Engineering or comparable technical expertise in the Space Industry
    • 5 years minimum experience in spacecraft mechanical systems engineering design
    • Knowledge of spacecraft system engineering methods
    • Good experience and knowledge of spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT)
    • Good knowledge of ECSS and NASA standards
    • Experience of Product Assurance / Quality Assurance practises
    • Experience of interfacing with internal and external Customers
    • Good analytical skills and ability to take decisions
    • Knowledge of configuration management relevant to the space industry
    • Good initiative and professional approach
    • Good communication skills in English required
    • Good presentation skills and ability to provide concise reporting on complex technical problems
    • Ability to work independently and in a project team
    • Willingness to travel overseas to support satellite testing and launch site activities
