    Job DescriptionOur client is responsible for establishing and operating major satellite programmes and associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The demanding real-time environment places emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures.

    The role embraces:-

    „h Installation and testing of externally developed software
    „h Operational support and maintenance of applications software
    „h Analysis and design of enhancements and corrections

    Knowledge of the following technology is essential:-

    „h C++
    „h X-Windows/Motif
    „h TCP/IP programming
    „h Source code control using ClearCase or CVS
    „h Configuration control

    Practical experience of any of the following would be advantageous:-

    „h Meteorological image and data processing
    „h Basic UNIX systems administration (HP Tru64)
    „h Hardware configuration
    „h Oracle or Sybase technology
    „h Formalised software testing

    This is a contract position with an initial period of three years starting in June 2005 with an option to extend for a further year. Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. Fluency in English is mandatory and a working knowledge of French advantageous.
