To work on customer site in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, we are looking for a:

Network operator (Columbus Systems CONTROL) (M/F)

Tasks and responsibilities:

The Network-Operator will provide real-time network and system management services at the German Space Operation Centre (GSOC) for the Columbus mission (European contribution to the International Space Station ISS). He/She will:

·      Configure and operate the Integrated Management System (IMS) for Columbus Ground Segment systems operations and control;

·      Configure complex systems and support simulations and testing;

·      Monitor the software and database applications;

·      Troubleshoot and recover the subsystems;

This support involves rotating shift work in a team, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Qualifications and experience:

Additionally to a relevant technical degree, the candidate will have strong network and system management skill, including performance management, maintenance and troubleshooting. He/she will be familiar with the following:

·      TCP/IP based LAN/WAN hardware and software;

·      Windows and Linux OS and applications;

·      Voice communication systems and procedures;

·      Variety of software monitoring tools;

·      Real time operations and level 1 support.

Fluency in English together with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to work in shift and in international teams is needed.
