Tasks:

·         Provide Systems Admin Support to Solaris (UNIX) and LINUX systems at ESOC as part of the on-site Help Desk support team

Essential requirements:

·        University (or related) degree in an IT field or equivalent experience

·        Experience in managing and administering UNIX (Solaris 2.6, Solaris 8, and Solaris 10) as well as SUSE LINUX SLES9 and above

·        Experience in hardware administration of Sun Microsystems computers

·        Experience in Veritas Network Backup Manager

·        Experience in Sun Cluster

·        Experience in Storage Network Architecture (SAN) hardware and software.

·        Candidates should be system-minded and able to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Desirable skills:

·        ITIL certification would be very desirable.

·        VMS/VAX Administration is HIGHLY desirable

·        Experience in installation and troubleshooting of Oracle databases would be a plus but is NOT a main criteria
