This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany,  calls for user support experience.  The role embraces the following tasks and responsibilities:-

·         Installation and administration of desktop and notebook systems, peripherals and standard office applications

·         Maintenance and support of remote access devices, eg Blackberries and VPN tokens

·         Administration of user accounts and VLAN and WLAN access

·         First and second level user support, in particular with respect to standard Desktop and Office applications

·         Operating and documenting Service Desk procedures

The key experience and attributes sought are:-

·         Experience of hardware installation, maintenance and troubleshooting

·         Work within structured ISO 9000 certified and/or ITIL based environments

·         Use of Novell ConsoleOne or Microsoft Management Console

·         Professional certifications, especially relating to Microsoft environments and software

·         Use of software distribution systems such as Zenworks or MS SMS

Fluency in English is essential and a working knowledge of French advantageous. This is a freelance contract assignment with an initial period of 1 year starting in July with two options to extend for further periods of two years each making a probable total contract length of 5 years.

Our client is responsible for establishing and operating major environment monitoring satellite programmes and the associated data telemetry and dissemination operations.  The demanding real-time environment  places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures.
