    Job Description

    VITROCISET is a preferred Contractor at ESA- ESTEC ( prime Contractor at Human Spaceflight, Microgravity and Exploration Directorate (D- HME) and Directorate of Technical and Quality Management (D-TEC) and for the expansion of our activities we are seeking skilled:

     

    -         Engineers ( System engineers, PA and Safety Engineers,  Software Engineers)

     

     

    in various contracts available starting from beginning 2006 and most likely running for 3 years. Preference will be given to contractors currently working in the Space Industry and/or similar positions.

     

     

     

    System Engineer

     

     

     

    Tasks:

     

     

    System engineering and overall project support for the development of space Systems/subsystems, that includes:

     

    -         Definition of system requirements

     

    -         Evaluation of industrial proposals

     

    -         Interfaces definitions

     

    -         Monitoring and control of industrial activities for the development , integration and verification of space hardware

     

    -         Participation and preparation of progress and technical meetings.

     

     

    Qualifications:

     

     

    ·         Education : University degree in Aerospace Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering, / Mechanical Engineering

     

     

    ·         Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory : another language (French, German, Russian ) is an asset

     

     

    ·         Experience in the management of hardware development and verification for space application.

     

     

    ·         Specific experience in re-entry and human space transportation systems is an asset

     

     

     

     

    PA and Safety Engineer

     

     

     

    Tasks :

     

               

    PA and Safety support

    Support and assistance in design, development and implementation in several ESA departments of quality management systems.

     

     

     

    Education : University degree in Engineering , preferably Aerospace engineering.

     

    Relevant experience in PA and Safety, for space projects.

     

     

    Software Engineers:

     

     

    Several positions are open , including :

     

     

    • Software validation and testing

       

    • Software development and engineering

       

    • Software development and data processing

       

    • Software development and graphical libraries

       

    Qualifications :

     

    Education level: A university degree in computer science or equivalent

     

    Familiarity with modern software engineering methods & tools.

     

    Experience within ESA standards for software verification and validation is an advantage.

     

    Programming languages: JAVA

     

    Unix based systems (Linux or Solaris)

     

    Configuration control system: CVS

     

    Object Oriented design methods

     

    Relevant experience as appropriate (for the four different positions)

     

    Experience in interacting with the science community would be an advantage.

     

    The selected contractors must be willing operate in a team environment and to travel. Good interpersonal and communication skills are an advantage. The contractors should be comfortable in an international working environment and be fluent in English, one of the official languages of ESA.
