                • Computer proficiency to include Word processing, Excel, Power Point and Access.

    U.S.Army / Fort Sill, OK 73503

    June 2009 - present

     

    SATCOM Operations Supervisor / Assistant Personnel Manager

    Tracked the maintenance status of four        AN/TSC-167’s, Satellite Transportable Terminals for the 214th Fires Brigade.  Ensured systems were capable and ready to support communications for upcoming deployments.  Provided voice and data communications to 150 users during Operation Unified Response, serving as the Senior SATCOM Operator/Maintainer.  Built CAT-5 to run voice communications between the Tactical Operations Center and user.  Monitored the joint network in Haiti utilizing SNMPc and Solar Winds software.  Acted as an assistant personnel manager supervising a group of 20 personnel, responsible for their training and welfare.  Responded to and resolved all personnel issues immediately.

    • Created a system to track maintenance and performance of four Satellite Transportable Terminals (STT).

    U.S.Army / USSOUTHCOM, Miami, FL 33172       May 2008 – June 2009

    Red Switch Plans and Operations Supervisor Operated and monitored the Defense Red Switch Networks, provided secure and non-secure telephone communications support; Defense Switched Network, commercial, tactical satellite radio and secure telephone equipment. Updated and maintained accurate key personnel databases and call rosters for all USSOUTHCOM. Answered the Joint Chiefs of Staff Automated Network and the Worldwide Secure Voice Conferences. Trained and provided technical assistance on secure voice, facsimile and data communications to the Joint Action Center personnel and USSOUTHCOM staff. 

    • Provided flawless communications support during 87 high-visibility missions

    • Commended for superior service support, contributing to the rescue of 3 American hostages from Colombia

    U.S.Army Fort Detrick, MD 21702                         April 2004 – May 2008               

    Senior SATCOM Technician / SATCOM Chief Provided secure transmission of Command and Control (C2) voice and data communications for the President, Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Military Command Center, War-fighter Commanders in Chief, the White House Communications Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other Department of Defense (DOD) agencies. Monitored communications equipment, links, circuits and trunks.  Performed preventative maintenance and quality assurance testing to ensure equipment reliability.  Simulated emergency situations to test and evaluate system operations.  Verified equipment configurations to ensure interfacing equipment was compatible.  Utilized Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment to analyze communications and diagnose in-house equipment issues for three satellite terminals.  Used knowledge of SATCOM operations and principles along with signal theory to isolate and identify problems.  Provided technical advice on corrective actions needed to restore equipment operations.  Used Technical Manuals, DISA Circulars and other references during troubleshooting and equipment repair (replacing circuit cards and equipment substitution).  Coordinated with the TCF and distant ends to restore communications.  Followed up on corrective actions and documented results.  Handled cryptographic equipment and loaded transec / COMSEC without incident.  Maintained Secure and Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router networks (SIPR / NIPR).  Informed Watch Officers during unusual conditions and submitted reports utilizing the Remedy reporting system.  Sent out status reports to satisfy DISA requirements.  Maintained a running log to annotate shift events.  Received a briefing from out-going shift and reviewed shift documents.  Briefed on-coming shift of daily events and ongoing issues.  Worked a 12 hour minimum, rotating shift to maintain 24 hour continuous communications support.

    • Created a database for the AN/FRC-181 MILSTAR terminal, which the Global SATCOM Support Center (GSSC) posted on their SIPRnet website as an example to be used worldwide

    U.S.Army Camp Red Cloud, Korea                       March 2003 – April 2004

    SATCOM Technician                                        Operated and maintained an AN/TSC-85C tactical satellite terminal.  Assisted as a team member with the deployment, setup, operation, maintenance, security and tear down of the AN/TSC-85C.  Configured communications equipment to reflect requirements specified in the Satellite Access Authorization.  Monitored equipment performance during operation and conducted daily maintenance.  Contacted Ground Mobile Forces to relay terminal status reports and inform them of any unusual conditions.
