    I am also responsible of projects with Brazilian ANSP (CISCEA) and the Italian ANSP (ENAV) for the provision of SW solutions supporting the Aeronautical Data management.

    Proposal manager/project initiating process

    • Participation to technical, management and financial proposals redaction for tenders in the field of Air Traffic Management and integrated systems for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance taking into account management/cost/schedule requirements;
    • Preparation and negotiation of subcontractors procurements;
    • Subcontractors proposals evaluation and subsequent contract negotiation activity;
    • Preparation of Work Breakdown Structures, the related Work packages description and the detailed/summary schedules for the respective activities;
    • Participation to contract negotiation activity or contract change negotiation.

    In the following some projects I worked on:

    • eTOD project aimed to enable an ANSP to manage aerodrome, obstacles, and terrain data in compliance with the ICAO regulation by IDS eTOD tool (data acquisition, management and obstacles charts production); This project included also the procurement of aerodrome data obtained by flight surveys with digital photogrammetric frame cameras, procurement of post processing services for aerial photos, photogrammetry activities, procurement of topographic survey;
    • eTOD 2 project for the study and development of innovative technique for the obstacle change detection and feature extraction in the Air Navigation Sector (obstacle risk reduction) using remote sensing systems;
    • EMACS project aimed to apply advanced electromagnetic simulation techniques to assess the performance of Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) systems using IDS SW COTS product.


    (2008 -> 2010)

    System engineer for SW solutions for airspaces design, flight procedure design, ground validation and workflow management supporting the  ANSP (Air Navigation Service Provider):

    • User requirements identification and definition;
    • Workflow diagram production using Business Process Modelling Notation (“AS IS” models, gap analysis, “TO BE” models);
    • Participation to system design;
    • Familiarity with international standards and guidelines in the ATM field (ADQ regulation, EUROCAE, RTCA, ICAO, EUROCONTROL);
    • Feasibility analysis and architectural trade-off;
    • Test plan and test report redaction;
    • Internal Test activities supervision;
    • Site acceptance testing phase supervision.

    These activities were done in the framework of the AIRNAS2010 and ATENA project for the Italian ANSP.


    Data analyst participating to R&D programs in the field of ATM:

    • Technical proposal production for Airspace Concept definition according to Performance Based Navigation methodology;
    • Analysis of cost benefits resulting from the use of RNAV GNSS procedures (Global Navigation Satellite System);
    • Data analyst in the framework of experimental projects of satellite navigation (development of Matlab specific tools):
    • GPS/EGNOS signal processing and performance evaluation;
    • Calibration of GBAS simulation models.

    These activities were done in the framework of the SIAM project with the Italian ANSP.
