Project Design Engineer - Aerospace Interconnect Systems Titusville, Fl

Lead engineer for numerous missile and avionics projects working directly with the defense contract customers on product improvement and proto-type cable assembly designs. Based on customer product needs I have procured labor and tooling cost estimates with future contracts. Implemented many cost saving designs to lower labor costs and improve customer schedules. Performed design dispositions on discrepencies to improve assembly manufacture and schedule. Analyzed, revised and implemented customer changes to meet schedule and delivery of products. Designed, drew (CAD) and programmed (CNC) software to create tooling for molded cable harnesses per military/defense specifications. Developed procedure specifications and process documents for manufacturing custom molded cable/wire and electronic assemblies complying with military/defense specifications. Designed assembly fixtures to develope and maintain cable/wire harness routing and geometry. Served as liaison between customers, contracts, quality and purchasing departments. Coordinated quality teams for product improvement and cost effectiveness. Supervised the machine shop and injection molding departments. Certified to train personnel in fiber-optic cable termination and manufacture.
Aerospace Technician Boeing/United Launch Alliance KSC/CCAFS
Perform integration, fabrication, modification and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and fluid systems of space launch vehicles. Handle, assemble, integrate flight hardware and sequence timer ordnance. Setup, operation, and data monitoring of electrical and mechanical systems for Delta II flight telemetry testing of 1st , 2nd and upper stage. Proficient in assembly and check out of upper stage spin test and clamp-band spacecraft mate operation. Integrated launch vehicles at the launch pads for Delta II and IV in Florida and California, in preparation for launch. Appointed Temporary Lead Technician (6 months) in Proof Load/Non-Destruct Testing Dept. Successfully passed the Delta II Operation Modules self-study program. Received numerous awards for exceptional support of flight operations. Trained operators for overhead bridge crane with use of various lifting devices. Electrical Rack integration, assembly and data testing for Space Station missions. Certified FAS/TRAC technician - Design, digitize (Faro Arm) and operate CNC router to fabricate packaging material used to cushion flight experiments during space flight.
