Zingo used GPS technology and the phone location service of the caller's network operator to locate the nearest available taxi. The passenger was then automatically connected to the driver's hands-free mobile phone.

     

    Ø       Implementation of multi-threading message servers (Java/JMS/Weblogic), processing messages coming from different sources: mobile operators, taxi GPS units and credit card payment systems.

     

    Ø       Development of an application (Java) to pinpoint the GPS position of a mobile device, using the location based services provided by the biggest mobile operators in the UK (Vodafone, Orange and O2), and calculate the nearest taxis available with different algortithms.

     

    Ø       Implemented system monitoring tools (Java/Swing/RMI) technologies to provide real time positioning information.
