-Technical Manager, in charge of coordinating the technical development of an antenna terminal, taking into account the different subsystems involved, such as antenna, RF blocks, antenna control unit and tracking subsystems. Specifications elaboration and system arquitecture design.
- System Engineer, in charge of the following main tasks
a) Definition of RF products to be used in ground communications terminals: waveguide components (filters, polarizers, OMTs) and RF transceivers, mainly at X, Ku and Ka bands.
b) Monitoring the design of RF products carried out by contractors, acquiring the know-how of the developed products -i.e.: design techniques and bibliography used-; and ensuring the satisfactory integration of the subsystems into new terminals
c) Analysis and definition of environmental procedures for the qualification of products, as well as design support for the implementation of improvements in order to fulfil such specs.
d) Analysis and definition of EMC procedures for the qualification of products, as well as design support for the implementation of improvements in order to fulfil such specs.
e) Test responsible during the environment and EMC qualification tests of several antenna terminals, as well as implementation of improvements to pass such tests
f) Test engineer during the Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests of several antenna terminals

Project Engineerin RF/microwave systems design
a) Development of RF communications products for customers
-Design of RF communication systems (from LF to 14GHz). Involved in RF system definition, analysis (ADS), PCB layout (Protel) and mechanical arrangements, RF tests (e.g. spectrum analyser, network analyser, vector analyser, noise figure meter) and qualification (e.g. thermal chamber).
b) System on chip for 4G communication systems (IST European research project – 6th FP)
- Technical management of the project and meetings with the European partners.
- Pre-study, RF system definition (specifications) and analysis of a RF front-end for next 4G communication systems. Definition of the system taking into account RF requirements as well as standards and recommendations (ETSI, CEPT, ITU and FCC)
From February 2001 to December 2003
Communications Department (Universityof Cantabria)
RF/Systems Engineeron satellite (onboard and ground segment) and wireless modems:
a) GaAs MMICs design to be used for onboard satellite applications (TT&C), in an industrial project
- Design and layout of multifunction MMICs (converters at 2 GHz and 140 MHz) using ADS and Cadence.
-Characterization of the modules (e.g. spectrum analyser, vector generator).
-Teamwork and technical meetings with the client.
b) Development of a Ka/K VSAT prototype (Spanish R&D project)
-Pre-study, RF system definition (specifications) and analysis (ADS) of the K/Ka VSAT (link budget, spurious, noise figure and spectral regrowth)
-Implementation of high frequency modules, using commercial MMICs and laboratory tests.
-Developed project management skills during the integration of all the modules required for the VSAT prototype.
c) Development of a wireless indoor modem (IST European R&D project – 4th FP)
-Design of specific mechanical boxes (using Autocad software) to integrate commercial MMIC, avoiding interference on the RF high frequency (17GHz) subsystems and eliminating resonance problems.

Design of discrete RF circuits (amplifiers, LNA in 2GHz) to be used for a TT&C satellite system in an industrial project.
Grant in the IT Division of Caja Cantabria bank. Main tasks: knowledge of relational databases (DB2), development of REXX and CLIST programs and analysis of the database performance.
Grant in the Business Deployment and Planning Department of TELEFONICA INTERACTIVA. Main tasks: the development of a managing tool and a study about the Internet network access and business awareness.
