    Calibrating, testing and repairing a vast range of equipment including;

    IT, AC/DC, AUDIO, RF/MICROWAVE.

    My role as an engineer was also customer service orientated. This involved communicating with customers (by phone, e-mail, fax and post) to set budgets, advise on turnaround and solve technical problems. In the last three years I also managed the training of other engineers, new apprentices and people on work experience placements on many ranges of equipment. In my final year I was involved in re-writing and updating HTBasic and HPVEE routines for IEEE488 based automated test software.

    Booking in supplies, instruments from customers and instruments from sub-contract service providers.

    Booking out and packing instruments for customers and instruments for sub-contract service providers.

    Carrying out stock checks, ensuring minimum stock levels and ordering supplies.

    During a re-shuffle of resources I became involved with networking and supporting the Telnet servers and dealing with any of the internal staff’s IT problems.

    Obtaining new customers and contracts, liaising with existing customers, liasing with other branches within the group and dealing with customer complaints.

    Ordering components and services from and liaising with suppliers and sub-contract service providers.

    Hobbies & Interests

    Many areas of electronics and IT interest me, as well as music, history, photography, cooking, socialising and travelling. I have also recently started to study French again and am undertaking a photography course.
