    SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY

     

    -        Mission planning and operation of INSAT and GSAT series of satellites used for communications.

    -        Responsible for planning and implementation of Flight control procedure for orbit raising operations of INSAT and GSAT series of satellites.

    -        Responsible for orbit raising operations of INSAT/GSAT series of satellites.

    -        Complete coordination with launcher agencies for operations and tracking network for smooth conduct of launch operations.

    -        Carrying out all the spacecraft operations from launch till operationalisation and hand over to MCF, HASSAN.

    -        Responsible for carrying out special and contingency recovery operation and providing guidance to MCF personnel for spacecraft operations.

    -        Overall coordination with subsystem engineers- Power, AOCS, and Thermal for implementation of spacecraft operations procedures for on-orbit operations.

    -        Trained spacecraft controllers for spacecraft operations.

    SOFTWARE ENGINEERING 

     

    -        Provided software requirements for the development of Real time software for satellite control centre at HASSAN. The software enables multi satellite control to carry out Telemetry, tracking and telecommand activities.

    -        Development of user friendly Interface specification for smooth conduct of satellite operations. This software is being used by a number of engineers for carrying out detailed analysis of satellite parameters.

    -        Leader of the team which conducted the test and evaluation of the satellite control software developed at ISRO satellite centre, Bangalore and implemented at Master Control Facility, Hassan.

    -        Involved in the procurement of Satellite Control Software for  the first generation of INSAT-system from Ford Aerospace,USA (LORAL Corporation).The activity encompassed:

    ·         Conduct of Periodic Reviews

    ·         Software Test Evaluation

    -        The embedded software requirements and test and evaluation of software after implementation at Bench level were carried out. The embedded software is implemented in the on-board processor for carrying out satellite control activities.

    -        Interaction with users of software at subsystem level and operational staff at Master Control Facility to provide feedback for further enhancement of satellite control software

    Retired as scientist –G in the Grade PB-4 of sixth pay commission grade –
