    Accomplishment: Architected advanced tracking, spacecraft-hosted payload and M2M concepts. ORBCOMM wanted to move into new business sectors. Developed advanced secure machine-to-machine (M2M) concepts tied to smart phones and micro-processors to support government applications. Finalized number of unique hosted payload options for Generation 2 spacecraft. Established implementation of active satellite RFIDs for affordable global M2M tied to next generation spacecraft. (OG2)

    Director, Rapid Initiatives Group, Raytheon, 2006-2010.Handpicked from 7000 as part of group of 16 innovators. Developed technical and business solutions for Combatant Commands, Iraq/Afghanistan, and developing nations with solutions in under 2 years. Spearheaded Raytheon Corporate activities in renewable energy.

    Accomplishment: Developed RFID hurricane tracking system currently used by NOAA. Better predictive systems were needed in wake of Hurricane Katrina. At Raytheon, devised RFID tags to broadcast key data from bottom of weather balloons. System offers 40% greater accuracy in predicting hurricane landfall, 18 hours earlier than previous models. It has helped determine where and when evacuations must occur and where to plan for hurricane related activities.

    Accomplishment:  Led Raytheon into renewable energy marketplace. Combined seven companies with technologies to gain market traction in algae/carbon recycle, wind turbines, solar, piezo electric, inertial power, water harvesting, and mass storage systems. Convinced Pennsylvania to start integrated Clean Coal program now in a pilot phase. National Energy Resources Organization (NERO) Congressional Award.

    Director, Business Development, 2002-2006, Reestablished Raytheon as a leader in tactical radio and satellite communications systems market. 

    Accomplishment:  Turned $50M investment in R&D into $740M in sales. Assigned to manage six diverse Raytheon sites across 700+ radio products and four cost/reporting systems with need for consolidation and optimization. Streamlined staff. Developed 12 new products. Implemented business strategy tied to new markets and legacy customers.

    Director, Colorado Springs, Hughes Space/Boeing Satellite Systems, 1999-2002.Managed field office operations and influenced USSPACECOMMAND and its components regarding MILSATCOM, GPS and Information Assurance issues.

    Accomplishment:  Wideband Gapfiller Architect.  Influenced government customers and participated in the design of $1.2B Wideband Gapfiller program. Provided insight into key perspective to plans for MUOS, WIN T, Advanced Wideband, JTRS, and FCS. Developed plan for MILSATCOM, GPS, and Boeings need for involvement in information assurance

    Director Army and Joint Chief Requirements, Hughes Space and Communications, 1997-1999.Liaised with Army and Joint Chiefs. Initiated market strategy for DoD, civil/commercial Satcom and GPS augmentation.

    Accomplishment: Established MILSATCOM Architecture for Hughes.  Spearheaded detailed concepts for Hughes Space use and customer acceptance tied to mobility, capacity and protection services via sitcom.  Established firm-fixed price space procurements and delivery on orbit as key customer business practices.  Culturally educated Hughes to satellite terminal environments and systems marketing.

    Officer, US Army Signal Corps (1977-1997) Served in command and staff positions in Communications, Engineering and leadership positions with responsibility for budgets up to $900M, complex engineering fetes, defense architectures, and staffs to 560. Awarded Legion of Merit.

    Accomplishment: Spearheaded $42B investment strategy for DoD space architecture. Assigned to determine future of Defense Satellite Communications, took charge to create a logical process for architecture development and buy-in.  This had never been done before within the DoD. Melded requirements with affordable technology to gain consensus within DoD, other Agencies and Congress

    Accomplishment:  Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Service Life Enhancement Program (SLEP).  Across 3 critical months, developed government-wide consensus among 34 stakeholders for closure with the SLEP concept.  Briefed and convinced Air Force Acquisition Executive. Preserved $92M in funding that was in jeopardy.

    Accomplishment:Department of the Army Staff. Managed and protected $860M Army Budget for Tactical Satellite Terminal Procurements, the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) investments, and GPS devices.

    Accomplishment:Tactical Signal Professional. Command of troops at all levels in tactical units under significant stressors tied to exercises, real world hostilities, relief missions, special classified missions and Presidential Support.

    Systems engineer for the United States Army Europe on all tactical radio systems installed during major exercises. Instrumental in writing and revising the war plans for the US Army and NATO during the height of the Cold War.

    Deployed to over 35 countries, installing satellite communications for command and control of Army, State Department, Presidential, and Intelligence Operations. Supported and wrote doctrine and plans tied to Army and Marine communications and command operations supporting major amphibious landings.
