Tasks – Visiting secondary schools to promote physics and science to the students with ‘Cool Physics’ demonstrations in order to raise interest in the science subjects.
Skills gained – Ability to communicate about science to a diverse audience and development of presentation skills.

Tasks – Technical sales advising, dealing with precision optics inquiries, handling and testing optical components, translating, contacting and creating relationships with foreign markets.
Skills gained – Obtained a certificate in technical selling, gained confidence in translating technical language, translated the companies trade website into Polish. Great communication skills gained by professionally handling customer’s inquiries and by communicating within the technical sales team.
VOLUNTEERING
§ 2008 – 2011, University of Kent, Space Society Committee, Vice President/Social Officer
Tasks – Arranging and hosting meetings, organizing and helping out with telescope sessions, rocket building classes, trips to ESA institutions and attending weekly committee meetings in order to maintain a well organized society centered on team work.
Skills gained – Writing minutes of meetings, leading, managing and having responsibility of a large group in the UK and abroad. Excellent communication skills gained by giving presentations, attending conferences, working within the committee team, university staff and interacting with members.
§ 2009 & 2010, University of Kent, Welcome Week Helper
Tasks – Guiding new students, helping them move in and participating in special events and parties.
Skills gained – Working within a team to provide an excellent welcome week for new students. Developed leadership and communication skills, as within this role was entrusted to ensure that new students got settled in quickly and obtained all the necessary information.
§ 2008, The Scrine Foundation (renamed “Catching Lives” in 2010), Art Class Supervisor
Tasks – Supervising an art class for the service users where they could gain support by interacting with the volunteers within a safe and comfortable environment.
Skills gained – Ability to deal and manage challenging behavior, working within and leading a small team.

ACHIEVEMENTS
As a Space Society representative I attended the Institute of Physics and Nexus student conferences where I helped the society win the Best Overall Physics Society 2008 Award, the Silver Award for the Best Physics Society 2009 and Kent Union’s Best Society Award 2009.
I gained co-authorship of my supervisor’s journal paper for my successful results from my final year thesis entitled “Star formation in Molecular Clouds: Structural evolution of spheroidal molecular clouds in the photodissociation region” which is anticipated to be published shortly.
INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES
In addition to volunteering, I enjoy traveling to gain the opportunity to meet new people and discover different cultures. I enjoy sports such as running and playing tennis and was a member of the Tennis Society at the University of Kent. In my spare time I also enjoy playing the violin.
