Worked with Remote Sensing Application Centre-UP, Sec.-G, Janki Puram, Lucknow (U.P.) as Project Scientist in CAPE/FASAL Project (Department of Space Funded) and managed by SAC-Ahmedabad (ISRO). During this tenure used PCI Geomatica-10.1, Arc GIS 9.2 andERDAS IMAGINE 9.1. and Performed Quality analysis for the different project works and upgrade and produce Database Access tables for the different projects.
Major Projects Handled
Title : Crop Acreage Production & Estimation Project (CAPE).
Synopsis : Funded byMinistry of Agriculture & Co-operation, Govt. Of India collaboration with
Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. The major objectives of this project are to provide Acreage & Production using Remotely Sensed data before harvesting the crop. The crops included are wheat (entire U.P.), Paddy (40 districts), Sugarcane (16 districts) and Mustard (8 districts) of U.P. For acreage estimation remotely sensed data is used whereas for production forecast Agro-Met yield model are used. As a team member, I carried out the following tasks assigned to me such as Ground Truth data on 1:50,000 scale with the help of GPS and Survey of India Toposheet, Rectification of image and sample segments extraction, Digital analysis of Remote sensing data for different seasons for different crops, Application of Maximum Likelihood Classifier to classify the digital data using CAPEWORKS which is associated work with Geomatica 8.1 software, Comparison of data derived from remote sensing technique with BES data and with previous year Remote Sensing Data, Report writing, Accuracy Assessments of digital analysis work for the estimations.
Title : Forecasting Agriculture Output Using Space, Agro-meteorology and Land
Based Observation (FASAL).
Synopsis : Funded byMinistry of Agriculture & Co-operation, Govt. Of India collaboration with
Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. The major objective of this project are to provide Acreage & Production of four crop viz. Wheat, Paddy, Sugarcane and Mustard using multidate IRS AWiFS data at state level before harvesting the crop. As a team member of FASAL project, I am involved to collect the ground truth for assigned districts, Participate in the digital analysis for wheat and paddy crop at National Remote Sensing Centre, Hyderabad and Space Application Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. I also participate in the digital analysis for Mustard crop SAC-Ahmedabad and DRMR-Bharatpur (Rajasthan), post classification ground truth verification.
Title : Wasteland Mapping Project.
Synopsis : This Project is sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development collaboration with national
Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), Hyderabad. The objective of this project was to generate digital data of wasteland along with base map, district boundary. For mapping of wasteland, geocoded FCC was used. In this project I worked as a team member.
Title : Mentha Crop Acreage Estimation Project.
Synopsis: Everest Flavours Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai funded this project due to mentha crop commercial importance; the sponsoring company was interested to know area under this crop in major growing districts before extraction of mentha oil. Therefore company can make plan for procurement of mentha oil. Under this project, I was assigned to complete the work of allotted districts. I carried out the following task such as first we decided suitable date of IRS LISS III data, which phonologically coincides the peak vegetative stage of mentha crop, registered the satellite data, and collected the Ground truth data of mentha crop and other land uses with help of GPS and SOI toposheet. Base layer were prepared for assigned district using ARC/INFO software, Using ground truth information training sites were marked for different land use classes. The MXL algorithm of Geomatica 8.1 software was used for classification. Accuracy of classification were checked using ground truth information, Area statistics of mentha crop at block and district levels were generated with help of ERDAS IMAGINE 9.1 software., District wise maps including block boundary were generated showing mentha distribution with the help of ArcMap 9.2 software.

Synopsis: Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh funded.
