Qualified to the engineering profession in Italyand member of the Italian engineers corporation since 1992.
Aeronautical engineering degree, full marks and honour (1988/89).
Grantof the Italian Aerospace Research Centre (C.I.R.A.) obtained for the thesis.
Secondary school heaving diplomaat the liceo ginnasio Ennio Quirino Visconti (1983).
Languages
Italian mother tongue, fluent English and French, elements of Spanish and Russian.
Relevant Experience
2001-2012: CNES launch vehicle directorate. Main functions covered:
Program management engineer at future projects in CNES (French Space Agency) launch vehicle directorate.
Head of the environment-aerodynamics department in 2003.
2000-2001:technical manager of the launch vehicle team at the consultancy company GECI France, which cooperates with Arianespace and CNES, respectively the European launch vehicle management company and French space agency.
1995-2000: at Fiat Avio space division. Activities: launch vehicles systems, thermo-fluid-dynamics, propulsion, acoustics and scientific software development.
1990-1995: at San Marco Project and Italspazio, Alenia Group, feasibility studies for small satellites to be used in constellations (projects Leostar and Globalstar).
1993: "visiting technologist" at NASA-JPL in the Navigation, Guidance and Control Section.

Conferences and publications
Author of about thirty publications in the field of dynamics and satellite attitude control, thermal protections, future launch vehicles, re-entry bodies. He participated as speaker at IAF, AAS/AIAA, CEAS, AIDAA, ARA conferences and ESA workshops. Besides he is author of articles published on the Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics (1997), Acta Astronautica (2002-2006), Von Karman Institute Lecture series (2006), Nova Science Publisher Inc. NY (2010).
