November 2009 to February 2013 : Research Engineer in Physics at SIMaP laboratory, France: Experiments and numerical simulations of interlocked structures (architectured materials). They are periodic paving of blocks. Their cohesion is possible thanks to the geometry of these blocks and the boundary conditions that we apply on the edge of the assembly.
Skills developed :
– Finite element Numerical simulations
– Development of a C++ code using the discrete elements method
– Development of mechanical characterization experiments of these interlocked structures
– Realization and tests of new interlocked structures
June 2009 to May 2013 : ESA project ’Fly your Thesis - An Astronaut Experience’ :
Realization of an experiment simulating a collision of asteroids in microgravity
Skills developed :
-control of an experiment with an acquisition board and motors programming
-design of the electrical circuit of the experiment
