Appointed as AIT Lead Mechanical Engineer for Astra 2G Telecommunications Satellite, the last of a Multiple Satellite contract for SES.

Configuration of mechanical documentation and build records at project completion, provide technical notes for transfer activities with kit definition and flight/test status of the payload ready for receipt in TLSE, achieving delivery 1 week ahead of schedule and coupling to the spacecraft within 24 hours of delivery.
AIT Senior Mechanical Engineer: Bepi Colombo HPRA (ESA)
March 2010 - February 2012
Lead AIT Mechanical Engineer for the Bepi Colombo High Pressure Regulator Assembly (ESA); A mission to research the planet Mercury, to lead all Assembly, Integration and Test activities for the High Pressure Regulator Assembly, forming part of the Mercury Transfer Module (MTM), regulating the propulsion for the mission.
The project breakdown consisted of three build and test phases including a Life Test of the Valve to be used on the HPRA, Engineering Qualification Model (EQM) and Flight Model (FM).
Mechanical activities included precision sizing of components, orbital welding, precision cleaning, sub assembly manufacture and integration and wiring of the unit harness.
Testing included Proof Pressure, Internal and External Leakage Tests, Vibration and Shock and Thermal Vacuum with functional testing (electrical and mechanical) carried out through each phase of operational regulation testing.
Main Project Responsibilities: -
Author Assembly & Integration Procedures and Test Procedures, presented to customer at IRR's and TRR's.
Design and Create High Pressure Test Set-Ups schematics providing optimum test set-ups.
Ensure Assembly and Test Equipment is fit for purpose and calibration requirements are met ensuring constant workflow and schedule is not impacted.
Design Project specific tooling (MGSE) for the Mechanical Assembly and Integration Activities including welding and alignment tooling.
Validate and Operate EGSE to certify fit for purpose, setting of flight parameters and carry out testing of the HPRA.
Plot, Sign Off and Present Tests results to Project for Verification.
Provide technical support at IRR's, TRR's and Non-Conformance Reviews.
