Eagle Flight Research Center Summer 2011
NASA’s Green Flight Challenge
Participated in the redesign of a Stemme S10 motor-glider to compete with other electric, bio-fueled and hybrid powered vehicles for the largest-ever prize in civil aviation. Aided in the team’s unique concept for ecological power by assembling electrical devices and fashioning internal parts in preparation for flight testing.

Aircraft Detail Design Project – Team Leader Spring 2012
Flap Design for Conceptual Super Sonic Aircraft
Given a proposed commercial supersonic aircraft, lead a team to design the detailed flap configurations. Researched several flap designs for supersonic and subsonic designs then created unique design suited for the proposed aircraft characteristics. Consolidated with several other teams working on separate aircraft sections to unify the design.

Galapagos Reconnaissance Mission
Designing an airplane capable of sustained observation over the Galapagos Islands to aid Ecuadorian law enforcement. Merging a team of ideas to create a unique vehicle exclusively designed to deter poachers while maintaining cost efficiency and feasible aircraft construction.
Aircraft Stability and Control Project Spring 2011
Predator Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) research and design
Researched the specifications of an already existing aircraft (predator UAV) to determine and model the aerodynamic control characteristics. Employing NASA’s Digital Datcom to three dimensionally predict the aerodynamic stability derivatives at various altitudes and mach numbers.

Spar Design Project
Fashioned the materials and basic construction of spars, ribs and struts used for early airplane wings.Modeled and tested the constraints of my design using finite element analysis in 3D modeling program NEi NASTRAN.
