    Integrated microwave photonics, an interdisciplinary science field, which combines RF/microwave engineering and photonics. It is a field studying the realization of on-chip optical systems using photonic integrated circuits for RF/microwave functionalities, such as high-frequency generation, analog transmission and distribution, complex signal processing, and input measurement and analysis.
