    June 2013 – August 2013: Paradigm (Contractor)

    • MOD contractor for SERCO working in Oman and Afghanistan installing and maintaining telephone and Internet services over a Satellite bearer including WIFI systems. Providing 24 hours 365 daysonsite technical cover for both the user and the UK. More recently providing troops in Qatar with Telephone and Internet services, including Secure Synergy services. Daily logging into remote and local switches having to check for errors and ensure all data is within specifications. Including flash updates and alterations (software upgrades on the hardware) as directed by the UK head office. Liaise with UK based Engineers to rectify faults.
    • Work included: Working on a Satellite bearer (unencrypted) with an IP multiplexer, performing PC and Telephone System Welfare Facilities support, Fibre Installations, and installing new LAN networks. Also repairing, Ghosting and configuring damaged PCs (and equipment), restoring them to the LAN. Providing handover and onsite training.
    • Technical Environment: Windows OS and desktop. Trained and instructed new team members including the military on equipment and supplied maintenance schedules providing customer confidence in the equipment and team I worked with.

     

    June 2013: VSL (Contractor)

    • Installing CAT5e into accommodation for hi-speed broadband and Wi-Fi for students at Hull University.

     

    March 2013: Microcomms (Contractor)

    • Complete installation of hi-speed Wi-Fi into Academy’s in Cornwall.

     

    November 2012 – March 2013: Thales (Contractor)

    • Providing computer administration (MACD) for three NATO systems to ISAF troops in Afghanistan, including satellite, microwave, secure telephone systems and power generator support and maintenance. Self-motivated - looking after remote sites and completing maintenance on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule, with paperwork and database backups (utilising SharePoint for tracking).
    • Work included: Administration, fault diagnosis, basic troubleshooting and raising of issues.
    • Also assisted in PC software upgrade Windows 2000-2007- migrating profiles, backing up data, reinstalling new operating systems, and restoring profiles including all software and peripherals.
    • Technical environment: Windows OS and desktop, and IP Set-ups, on an encrypted Satellite system.
