                                            Psychologist

    Administer medically required neurocognitive assessments to NASA astronauts and international partner astronauts assigned to long-duration space flight missions. Train and establish pre-flight baseline levels of cognitive performance, monitor in-flight and post-flight performance, and provide summary feedback to USOS flight surgeons, psychologists and psychiatrists.

    Provide psychological services based on cognitive-behavioral principles to astronauts, spouses, and dependents.

    Provide psychological services as needed for astronaut selection activities, including psychological testing reviews, clinical interviews, and team performance ratings.

    Deliver psychological interventions to research participants in the long-duration flight analog (bed rest) studies conducted by NASA Johnson Space Center and partner organizations. Provide psychological and behavioral evaluations, screening and selection, training, and education in support of the NASA Flight Analogs Project. Provide feedback to attending physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team regarding psychosocial concerns and behavioral health issues. Additional responsibilities include data collection, development and implementation of support resources and psychological countermeasures during bed rest studies, and post-test support and data collection as required by the research protocols. Supervise psychological support personnel to provide psychological services for research participants.
