    • Used Matlab for statistical analysis, numerics and plot making in several projects.

    • Experience with C in a project related to semi-numerical cosmological simulations.

    Education

PhD in Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India (2005 to 2011)

    • Thesis: ‘Constraining Cosmological parameters from Galaxy Cluster surveys’

    • Optimization of observational strategies in astronomical surveys

    • Forecasting of constraints on cosmological model parameters using Fisher information matrix and Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods

    • Wrote/modified substantial parts in a ~10,000 line C code C implementing the MCMC methods.

    • Proposed a new method for using galaxy surface brightness as a probe of exotic Physics

    • Used Matlab for solving differential equations, numerical integrations, matrix operations and presenting results.

Master of Science in Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay), Mumbai, India (2003 to 2005)

    Specialty

I am a Physics Ph.D. from India’s top research institute, where I learnt the skill of formulating and modeling complex problems into a mathematical language, and their consequent solution using theoretical and quantitative methods. Couple this with the data analytical and statistical skills that I picked up in my postdoctoral work, I would surely be a valuable addition to any team working on analysis/software development.
