PROFILE
Marco has a wide experience in spacecraft and subsystems assembly, integration and testing campaigns, deep knowledge of operations and management of mechanical test facilities (thermal, vibration and mass properties). He has experience as test engineer and mechanical designer. Marco graduated in Aerospace Engineering at University of Pisa and received the professional habilitation as Industrial Engineer by University La Sapienza in Rome. He completed a PhD in Physics and Physic Technologies for Space Applications at the University of Perugia in January 2014. The PhD thesis work consisted in design, realization and test of a machine for the measurement of all the inertia properties of small space payloads (less than 50 kilograms), the results of the thesis were published as a paper in a peer reviewed journal (see publications). His 2,5 years work experience is focused on qualification testing (with particular attention to automotive and Space applications) and design & construction of machines, mainly for testing.
Marco has experience as conductor and/or supporter for the following tests: Thermal-vacuum, Thermal, Vibration, Pyroshock, Mass properties measurements, Drop, Ship motions, Sand and dust and Rain.
Moreover, he designed and participated in the construction of the following test machines: vibration test interfaces, pyroshock, inertia measurement, drop and ship motions. Marco has experience in the following software simulation fields: CAD modelling, FEA analysis, Multibody simulations and Fluid-dynamics simulations.
