    Description                        Analyses were done on a battery rack to compute stresses due to earthquake loading. The load spectrum is taken from Indian standard code and the Spectrum method available in NASTRAN is used for computing the responses in the structure. Hand computations were also done with the extracted mode shape, participation factor etc. using Microsoft Excel and results were compared. As the structure is found unsafe against the specified loading, necessary suggestions to improve the earthquake resistance of the structure were given to the client.

    Description                        Static analyses were carried out on bourdon tube for different section properties to assess its capability to measure the required pressure. Analysis results were compared with test results. Analysis model is updated using experimental results to include the local plastic behavior in the tube. This updated model is used to make new designs for different requirements.
