Ground System Engineer |
2012 – onwards Goktürk Satellite Programme. The Goktürk is a Turkish optical satellite developed by a joint venture between Telespazio S.p.A. and Thales Alenia Space France having Turkish Air Force (TurAF) as final user and Turkish Defense Ministry as customer. The program is composed by two segments: Satellite segment and Ground segment. The ground segment is composed by five sub-system, one of them is USS (User Service Sub-system), the USS is responsible for entire End User Chain in term of deposit of Service Request coming from the final user up to dissemination of required product. The End User is able to require a low level product and/or high level product, via Service Request. The request is managed at USS level (Service Access Point facility) to check its feasibility and to generate the acquisition plan to be route to the Mission planner (outside to USS purpose). When the image is available, the satellite is responsible for downloading the image and the antenna (outside to USS purpose) is in charge for providing the image data to USS (Data handling Function facility), the incoming image data is processed in order to generate low level product (Ingestion and Processing Service facility from raw data up to L2 product) and if required to generate high level product (Image Exploitation Service facility from L2 up to L6). The raw data and all generated data are stored in a dedicated archive and at end the required products are disseminated to the end user as required (Catalogue Archive and Dissemination facility). In addition in the frame of USS there is a dedicated facility to assess the image quality and to perform a calibration activity (Calibration and Quality Service facility). From management point of view the USS is composed by several supplier: 1 Turkish Supplier (ASELSAN) devoted to develop 4 facilities; 1 French Supplier (Thales Services) responsible for low level processing chain and calibration and image quality assessment facilities; 1 Italian Supplier responsible for raw data provisioning facility. In the frame of USS the role covered is a Technical Responsible covering all the management and technical aspect with supplier, end user and Customer. |
