    JOB APPLIED FOR POSITION:
    SAR Processing Engineer

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    01/08/2013 - Currently
    SAR Processing Engineer
    MetaSensing BV, Noordwijk (Netherlands)

SAR signal processing of airborne data acquired with a polarimetric airborne SAR, operating at X and Ku band. Data quality analysis and calibration. Analysis of the radar backscattering from snow- covered area.

    PROJECTS:
    2013-2015 – SnowSAR
The SnowSAR sensor has been deployed within the ESA project CoReH2O (Cold Regions Hydrology High-Resolution Observatory), whose aim is to measure the characteristic of the cryosphere at unprecedented levels of spatial resolution, coverage and absolute accuracy. The necessity of a wide and continuous time serious measurement, pushes to the collection of airborne SAR images with a high spatial resolution during extended time periods. To fulfill this goal, the SnowSAR sensor, a dual-frequency, dual-polarization X and Ku band mini-SAR airborne system, has been developed. The main objective of this project is to provide for radiometric calibrated SAR data to characterized the backscattering signature of the snow and other terrain types (e.g. trees), to test theoretical backscattered models, to validate retrieval algorithms and to support the end-to-end simulation of mission performance.
