    A representative FE model is created using Nastran/Patran for nonlinear buckling simulations of lightweight deployable CFRP booms and bending tests are performed to compare the test results with simulation results. A novel bending test rack has been designed and constructed for this purpose. The work also includes manufacturing CFRP booms.

    • [Jun 2010 – Sep 2010] “Modelling of Acoustic Radiation from an Annular Duct”

    Organization: Rolls-Royce UTC, Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton, UK.

    This work compared the analytical solutions for acoustic radiation from an annular duct, developed by Prof. N Peake (University of Cambridge, UK) with the numerical results produced using ACTRAN/TM.

    • [May 2008 – Jul 2008] “Study of Using Electric Sail Tethers as Dust Detectors in Space”

    Organization: Finnish Meteorological Institute, Helsinki, Finland.

    In this work, a basic analysis has been made on using electric sail tethers, which are component of Electric Sail Propulsion System, to find the nature of dust particles in space.

    •  [Oct 2009 – Jan 2010]CanSat Group Project. Member of the Structure and Thermal Design team. The satellite had to fit in 0.5 L volume, weigh less than 0.5 Kg, and had to survive free fall from a height of 2 m. All the electronics had to be properly insulated.
