Internships / Academic Projects
Organization: German Aerospace Center (DLR), Braunschweig, Germany.
A representative FE model is created using Nastran/Patran for nonlinear buckling simulations of lightweight deployable CFRP booms and bending tests are performed to compare the test results with simulation results. A novel bending test rack has been designed and constructed for this purpose. The work also includes manufacturing CFRP booms.
Organization: Rolls-Royce UTC, Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton, UK.
This work compared the analytical solutions for acoustic radiation from an annular duct, developed by Prof. N Peake (University of Cambridge, UK) with the numerical results produced using ACTRAN/TM.
Organization: Finnish Meteorological Institute, Helsinki, Finland.
In this work, a basic analysis has been made on using electric sail tethers, which are component of Electric Sail Propulsion System, to find the nature of dust particles in space.
