Landing on Mars is difficult and not always successful. Well-designed advance testing helps. An ambitious NASA Mars rover mission set to launch in 2020 will rely on a special parachute to slow the spacecraft down as it enters the Martian atmosphere at over 12,000 mph (5.4 kilometers per second). Preparations for this mission have provided, for the first time, dramatic video of the parachute opening at supersonic speed. The Mars 2020 mission will seek signs of ancient Martian life by investiga...

A temperate Earth-sized planet has been discovered only 11 light-years from the Solar System by a team using ESO's unique planet-hunting HARPS instrument. The new world has the designation Ross 128 b and is now the second-closest temperate planet to be detected after Proxima b. It is also the closest planet to be discovered orbiting an inactive red dwarf star, which may increase the likelihood that this planet could potentially sustain life. Ross 128 b will be a prime target for ESO's Extremely ...

    CV

    Introduction

I am a telecommunications engineer (MSc) with over 20 years of experience in design of Satellite, TLC and SCADA equipment & systems, and I spent the past 6 years in the design of maritime satellite antennas, co-founding Skytech Italia.

Born in 2011 as a startup company, we quickly reached worldwide success and reputation with innovative carbon fiber VSAT maritime antennas in the Oil&Gas market. I have worked closely with major satellite operators during testing, commissioning and type approval of our antennas, including the innovative flat panel terminals and dual band Ku/Ka maritime antennas.

I fully believe in the future of SATCOM systems and the innovative challenges posed by upcoming HTS GEO and the revolutionary LEO constellations, and the role that mobility applications (land, sea and air) will play in the near future.

My past experience spans from the R&D to the technical support for commercial proposals, and I have always been the technical reference point for many customers. I have often been called in as the solution architect and system engineer during the proposal and the implementation phases.

Innovation has always been part of my role, and one of the latest and best achievements has been the world’s first dual-band KU and KA maritime VSAT antenna compatible with KA-SAT and standard Ku-band satellites.

My past experience in TLC, Satcom and SCADA systems for the Oil&Gas and Broadcasting industry brought to successful projects in Italy, France, USA, Middle East, North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia) and Venezuela, with notable customers such as Marine Technologies, Eutelsat, Viasat, MTN, Telespazio, RaiWay, ENI - AGIP, SNAM Rete Gas, Hewlett Packard, PDVSA, Telvent, Sonatrach, Cegelec, ABB, Nokia Siemens Networks, Italian Railways, Selex Communications, Alcatel-Lucent, ENEL, Wind.

Group work, sharing of know-how and support to colleagues has always been part of my role. I have very good capability of relationship with customers and company presentation. Accustomed to frequent travels abroad for presentations, surveys, international fairs, partner qualification. As technical and organizational leader of Skytech Italia and Staer, I have coordinated the R&D group, the Project Leaders Team, Logistics/outsourcing activities, and the Technical Assistance Team.  As CEO of Skytech Italia and Staer Sistemi, I have matured the skills of financial management, business planning, personnel administration, taking part in the annual budget preparation, projects and R&D cost control, periodic review of revenue and turnover forecasts.

I have implemented the ISO9001 quality system since 1997, and the company ERP system for cost control and industrial accounting.

Please take a moment to go through my list of projects attached to the resume, this will give you an overview of my experience in many different aspects of TLC, Satcom and system design.
