    ·       During this internship I worked as a mechanical design engineer in the automation and robotics lab. I designed a lander-test-platform and several lightweight structures with CAD software for the rovers in the lab. After the design I guided and followed up on the manufacturing process very closely with internal and external companies.

    ·       I worked together with experts in different fields during the concurrent design engineering studies in the following studies: MarsFast, Phobos Sample return and MAPPER – RDV

    ·        I contributed to R&D activities with one of the rovers considering a new way of moving across difficult terrain called "wheel waking".

    ·        During the first months I was able to attend an electrical course which was followed by an electrical nomination. This Electrical course was implemented to upgrade and inspect all the labs within ESTEC conform the NEN3140 norm.

    ·        The course Spacecraft system engineering and the CDF gave me more detailed insight into the spacecraft design.

    ·        I reviewed and compared several robotic simulation software packages (Robcad, RobotExpert, VREP) and  implemented VREP in the lab and organized a VREP training day within our section.

    ·        I was responsible for the design and organizational aspect field test campaigns in The Netherlands and Germany.
